Aspen Reflection by Nicole McHale

Aspen Reflection by Nicole McHale

Artist Statement: The gift of time with the pandemic allowed me to explore physical and digital collage. Susie Monday’s classes taught me the basics. Digital manipulation apps are the new fabric stash opportunity. I love manipulating photos shot on my walks. It is a source of joy getting lost in play. The brilliant colors and contrasts in this image are stunning.

Materials & Techniques: Personal photo manipulated using the app BeCasso. Photo taken in April 2021, after a long pandemic walk with opportunistic photo taking along the way. Printed on cotton poplin by Spoonflower and quilted by myself using Superior Mono Poly Thread.

Dimensions: 39 x 40 x 0

Photographer:  McHale
