Artist Statement: I embroidered this (without a plan) in early autumn 2020, as a way of processing loss and quelling my anxiety -- "May her memory be a blessing" -- but hand-quilted and finished it in spring 2022. The comparison piece is my embroidery "Doodle Cloth" of several decades standing, started before I tried quilting, before it dawned on me that embroidery and quilting could co-exist in a single piece. 

Materials & Techniques: Whole-cloth cotton, assorted threads, yarn. Hand-embroidered and hand-quilted.
