Artist Statement: I've become more interested in Dye Painting and quilting my photos and nature. I took a Workshop with Hollis Chatelain and learned how to Dye Paint with thickened dye. It has led me to more abstract work over the past few years. This Malachite Kingfisher has an attitude. 

Materials & Techniques: Drawn on treated PFD fabric. Painted with thickened Procion MX fiber reactive dye. Textured threads added to moss on tree branch. Free-motion machine quilted with variegated threads, Warm & White 100% cotton batting
