Florescence by Geraldine Warner

Florescence by Geraldine Warner

Artist Statement: Dimension is an important aspect of my fiber art. It can be subtle, such as the relief created by free-motion quilting, or more dramatic as I contort and stitch quilted surfaces into three-dimensional forms. My sculpture alludes to nature and the life-giving force of light.

Materials & Techniques: Materials: Hand-dyed silk fabrics, silk and cotton threads, interfacing, wire, glass beads, mounted canvas base. Techniques: Machine quilting, hand stitching, hand beading.

Dimensions: 11 x 20 x 16
