Reaching for the Light by Geraldine Warner

Artist Statement: Though abstract, my artwork often alludes to nature. This quilt emphasizes the vital importance of light for driving photosynthesis and providing energy that young plants need in order to grow.

Materials & Techniques: Materials: Hand-dyed and painted silk fabrics, cotton interfacing, batting and backing, silk and cotton threads. Techniques: Machine pieced and free-motion quilted on a domestic sewing machine.
