Artist Statement: In my first tile quilt from my Journey’s series, a landscape portrait, I made photo transfers onto commercial fabrics using images from my childhood and teen years. (#6) in my Full Moon series explores making my own marked and dyed fabrics to use in my quilts. Snow Moon has 95% hand dyed, or hand painted fabrics in it and delves into the abstract.

Materials & Techniques: Hand dyed Radiance was used for the background. Acrylic paint and marking pens were used to mark on fabric and then cut up and fused to the background. Hand dyed gradients were used as well as a commercial hombre fabric. Each tile is handcut, then machine stitched onto the Radiance.
