Artist Statement: Raw edge applique is much more my speed than needle-turn. I was particularly happy to learn that raw edged pieces of all sizes can be corralled with tulle. The garden scene was my first project that utilized tulle. The butterfly was an exercise in fussy-cutting. Quilting over tulle definitely made the process more enjoyable.
