Artist Statement:  This photo was taken while visiting The Living Desert Zoo in Palm Desert and sparked the idea of being on a journey. Life is a journey and I thought this quilt would be a great way to showcase photos of memorable moments and people from my early years.

Materials & Techniques:  Background fabric is Radiance (silk/cotton blend) which is used to form the grout between the tiles. Commercial fabrics were used. Tiles are fused to the Radiance, then machine stitched. Recycled woven rug remnants made by my grandmother and Inkjet photo transfer of childhood family and friends were used.
