Artist Statement: Microscopes reveal beautiful patterns in unexpected places. This is based on the highly magnified pattern I saw on the back of a spider while using a Scanning Electron Microscope during my career as a biologist.

Materials & Techniques: Cotton fabric, wool batting. Free motion stitching with white cotton thread. Fabric paint and water-soluble colored pencil applied after stitching.
