Artist Statement: A particularly beautiful sunrise near Cascade Head, Oregon inspired this image. Building the piece with bands of color recalled the experience of watching the sun break through the clouds to reorganize and transform the landscape minute by minute.

Materials & Techniques: Commercial, hand-dyed, and monoprinted cottons and silks. Machine pieced and quilted with hand embellishment
