Artist Statement: Pacifist is #18 in the Rock Record series of quilts, which attempts to make tidy art from messy life, through geological metaphor. Here two objects in calming colors interact with each other in quiet trust.

Materials & Techniques: Cotton fabrics hand-dyed by Julie Sevilla Drake, plus commercial fabric. Machine-pieced and quilted by Julie Sevilla Drake.
