Artist Statement: Mortem discusses the "death" of the Doce river in Minas Gerais state, with the launching into its waters of the mud that leaked from the ore dam in Mariana city. The landscape has been modified, the ecosystem destroyed, the life of the fauna of the reaped river, the private population with limited water supply and the impaired regional economy.

Materials & Techniques: Fabric modeling, painting, machine embroidery, copper wire and plastic mesh balls.
