The Rituals Exhibit - 2001

RITUALS, an exhibition in 2001 of 27 art quilts by members of the Contemporary QuiltArt Association, was the result of a challenge to use unusual silks from Asia, along with other materials and stitched designs, to explore rituals. Many concepts were developed: pieced landscapes in honor of sacred spaces, abstractions and ritualistic motifs, and even a quilt stuffed with paper, rocks and scissors, celebrating the childhood game of choice.
