Artist Statement: Blooming heather in masses is a very intense experience in a wetland or moor. Growing up in Germany, visiting the Lüneburger Heide left me with a deep memory of that color. .

Materials & Techniques: Commercial cotton and hand-dyed cotton (by the artist), Dupioni silk.
Free-shape cutting, facing, machine quilting in layers.
