In The Line Of Fire by Kathy Macdonald

In The Line Of Fire by Kathy Macdonald

Artist Statement: History repeats. My parents and grandparents spoke of their memories of social unrest, political protest, and war. World and national events have formed my generation’s experiences, opinions, and disagreements. Our children learn from us. The holes in this quilt represent the awareness that violence is ever-present in our society. The weapons may change, but the emotions are universal and the cycle continues.

Materials & Techniques: Pieced with commercial and discharged fabric. Fused applique, embroidery, thread embellishment. Domestic machine quilting.

Dimensions: 54 x 31 x 0

Photographer: Kathy Macdonald
