Downstream by Geraldine WarnerArtist Statement: In this piece I aimed to evoke the rhythms of a fast-flowing stream. The balls are made of hand-dyed silk fabric stuffed with wool. I added vintage textiles, along with hand embroidery, silk ribbons, glass beads, and free-motion machine quilting to enhance the impression of turbulent water. Materials & Techniques: Hand-dyed silk fabrics, hand-dyed silk ribbons, silk embroidery and sewing threads, vintage dress and doilies, wool stuffing.
