Deux Fleurs by Barbara FoxArtist Statement: Inspired by my birthday bouquet, I created the rhyming diptych “Deux Fleurs.” From a photo, I worked improvisationally to create the quilt on the left. It begged for a mate that would complement its colors and rhythm. I started with a traditional 4-patch pattern but spontaneously created each unique block. The vibrant color scheme pulsates with rhythm, making the viewer’s eyes dance over both pieces. Materials & Techniques: Commercial cotton fabrics, cotton thread. Machine pieced and quilted on standard sewing machine. Dimensions: 29 x 42 x 0 Photographer: Barbara Fox |
