Artist Statement: This design is a variation on one of a series of sketches I drew in the middle of a sleepless night in 1999. In this complex intertwining design, shapes that begin as negative spaces often become focal points as they snake across the surface of the quilt. Although the triangles in the spikey templates all look alike, each one is actually a slightly different size and shape, much like repeat patterns in nature.

Materials & Techniques: Hand dyed, hand painted, machine pieced, machine quilted cotton fabric, cotton/bamboo batting, polyester & acrylic threads.
