Artist Statement: Every woman, of any size and shape, can look wonderful, given the right clothing. This conviction is at the heart of my design philosophy. I begin by designing simple shapes that flatter mature women’s bodies. I use a wide range of textiles, both new and vintage, and many from other parts of the world. I am influenced by nature, by the Impressionists, by contemporary ceramics and basketry, and by everything Asian, not necessarily in that order.
