Pleasures

sunrise over golden wheatfields
deep rose, orange, and yellow
colors that spark memory
of a heat that burns
warming me to the bone
sun waking me slowly
seeping into my soul
two bodies in a twin bed
smooth skin cool as silk next to mine
days of lazy heat
filled with sunshine
reflecting on water
white puffy clouds
floating in blue skies
ice cream melting
sticky sweet lips on mine

Materials & Techniques: Hand-painted silk, hand-dyed cotton, commercial cottons and silks. Machine pieced and quilted.
