Zigzags & Circles #7 by Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry

Zigzags & Circles #7 by Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry

Artist Statement: As part of my ongoing effort to simplify my work, I decided to design a series of pieces that combined freeform zigzags, circles, and a few freeform curves. I made the areas where the shapes overlap into separate shapes and chose different colors to create the illusion that all the shapes are transparent.

Materials & Techniques: Cotton fabric, cotton/bamboo batting. The design was digitally printed by Spoonflower. I used free-motion quilting with many different colors of thread and several different patterns, including circles combined with meanders, zigzags, and echo quilting. The binding fabric was designed especially for this quilt.

Dimensions: 67 x 40 x 0
