Artist Statement: Using slow stitching, I gradually transformed a flat piece of fabric into a dimensional form with a topographical appearance. I added additional features using glass beads and cabochons of semi-precious stone (atlantisite).

Materials & Techniques: Hand-dyed silk noil fabrics, perle cotton and embroidery floss, interfacing, glass beads, cabochons of atlantisite (a natural combination of green serpentine and purple stichtite). Hand stitched and beaded.

Dimensions: 20 x 16 x 0

Photographer: Heidi Swoboda
