Artist Statement: I flew over Greenland for the first time in daylight in early March this year, and saw the melting ice. As beautiful as the patterning appeared, I was struck by the expanse of blue water where white ice should have been.

Materials & Techniques: Indigo dyed fabric for the background with applique of commercial cotton fabric. Machined appliqued and quilted (DSM).
