Joyce Loss, Brazil - Nhanduti

Artist Statement: In the indigenous language Tupi Guarani, Nhanduti means "cobweb". When the artist applied the wool yarns on the fabric, the result reminded her some tangled cobwebs that “Beija Flor” (Brazilian bird) steal to make their nests.

Materials & Techniques: Applique, Wool yarns applied and cotton yarns machine-sewn. Macghine quilted.
