Colleen Wootton - Radiant Dozen

Artist Statement: I drew Inspiration for this piece in a painting called “Farbstudie Quadrate”, c.1913 by Wassily Kandinsky. The process of making my art quilts is a step into the future, using computer technology to create original designs with bold geometric patterns and colors on digitally printed fabric, then integrating traditional quilt stitching to create texture and definition on the designs’ surface.

Materials & Techniques: The top is made of custom digitally printed organic cotton sateen, with heirloom batting sandwiched in the middle, and organic cotton on the back.

Dimensions: 69" X 52"

Photographer: Trevor Pearson Photography
