Artist Statement: This piece was inspired by the colors and textures of a stream weaving through meadows and forests, as seen from a sea plane flying over Afognak Island, Alaska. The border is designed to suggest looking down through an airplane window.

Materials & Techniques: Commercial and hand dyed cotton fabrics and fabric paint. Raw edge appliqué, machine quilted with invisible thread, and hand quilted with cotton embroidery thread.
