Artist Statement:

I have always been very aware of the passage of time and of the need to use time wisely, but my appreciation of the gift of time was heightened when I was mid way through this quilt and was diagnosed with a potentially life threatening illness. Despite surgery and debilitating treatment, I was determined to finish this quilt within three months. I started out quilting an hour a day. It was difficult to find the time and strength to do it every day, but I will not squander my gift of time on earth, and so I finished this piece on time.

Materials & Techniques: This quilt was machine pieced and machine quilted. It is made of hand-dyed fabrics by the artist and others.
