Artist Statement: I was born in a year of the dragon, and cats are my very favorite animal, so when I saw this cat and dragon batik panel, I knew I had to use it somehow in a quilt.

Materials & Techniques: This quilt is pieced from just two fabrics, one a hand batiked panel, the other a beautiful piece of hand dyed cotton by Judy Robertson. Both pieces were almost "too good" to cut up, but the sum of the parts is greater still. Machine pieced with cotton fabrics and free-motion quilted with rayon and metallic threads.
