Artist Statement: The silk fragment came from Tibet by way of art quilt collectors, Warren and Nancy Brakensiek, and provided the jumping off point for an exploration of Greek key or fret motifs, mandalas and Tibetan prayer flags. All of which are meditative patterns. Made for the first CQA challenge, Rituals.

Materials & Techniques: Found textiles of cotton, silk, rayon, and lightweight wool for batting. Ceramic buttons, cotton embroidery floss, teabag strings, and quilting threads. Machine piecing and hand stitching.

Dimensions: 20" wide x 24" high
