Artist Statement: In the journey of making this quilt, my concept was fostering children, hence the ethnic fabrics making log cabins from around the world—my "village"—and the hidden messages behind each cabin. However, as the process proceeded I realized I was really talking to my younger self and wanting to tell someone what I had learned.

Materials & Techniques: Hand-dyed and commercial fabrics, Southeast Asian embroideries, homespun cottons from Guatamala, paper and rayon ribbons, magnetic quotation plaques, Central American trinkets. Pieced and hand appliquéd, couching.

Dimensions: 24"W x 60"H
