Artist Statement: For the CQA Rituals Challenge I received a piece of silk with six identical woven-in Buddha motifs. I cut it up and re-assembled it into nine kaleidoscopic hexagons. In Buddhism, prayer wheels are used to spread spiritual blessings and well being. There are several traditional Japanese hexagonal symbols for prayer wheels as well, so I incorporated one of them into the quilting design.

Dimensions: 20" wide x 24" high

Materials & Techniques: Silk fabrics, cotton batting, rayon threads and buttons. Machine pieced, appliquéd and quilted.
